Transient Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Design piping for static loading is only a part of the picture. We rarely see field issues or failures resulting from static loading. The problems we are retained to solve are more often related to dynamic loading.

Fully Capable of Transient Analysis Including:

Flow induced vibration is typically not considered during design, as the pipe sizing is based on expected operating conditions. Issues seem to happen down the road when operating conditions are changed, or multi-phase flow manifests unexpected resonance vibration.

Example: Thermal Wells

This is a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis/model of a thermowell with helical geometry. Specifically, it represents the disruption of oscillating vortexes which occur on a similar smooth thermowell.

Example: Vortex Shedding

Vortex Shedding is when a fluid passes over an object and alternating eddies form in the wake of the object.
